How to order
Fonts are sold on the basis of a signed licence agreement conferring a
single user licence, a multi-user licence or a multi-site licence.
To purchase fonts of my type designs, you must sign a licence agreement.
This can be quickly arranged by fax and e-mail.
To order, please fill in the form on the left, you will then receive
an offer. If you accept the offer, a licence agreement will be sent to
you along with the invoice. On receipt of a copy of the agreement signed
by you and full settlement of the invoice you will be sent the fonts.
Example prices for fonts (except Gulliver):
Basic price for 1 font for 1-5 workstations is Euro 100
4 fonts for 1-5 workstations cost Euro 360
10 fonts for 1-5 workstations cost Euro 720
4 fonts for 10 workstations cost Euro 670
10 fonts for 10 workstations cost Euro 1390
Advice
I place great weight on personal contact with my customers: it has often
allowed me to advise them on how to get the best out of my type designs.
If you are wondering about electronically condensing my designs, for example,
or about combining them with other types, or have a query about possible
changes or extensions, I am always happy to help.
Customising
Not only do I sell ready-to-use typefaces, I can also modify fonts —
e.g. with old style instead of ranging numerals, as your own version for
headlines, with special characters in one font, or as a special version
for a corporate identity. I also design entirely new types to order, as
for the Delftse Poort building in Rotterdam, for Rome or for the ANWB.
Copyright
Please do not use my fonts without a licence agreement or without having
paid for them. If you do, you infringe my copyright and use the fonts
illegally — which is tantamount to theft. Every design represents
years of work and a great deal of care that has gone into producing technically
and aesthetically good fonts. It is only fair that users should pay a
reasonable fee!
Use of fonts by your clients and suppliers
If you use my fonts for a client, and if the client also wishes to use
the fonts, the client must, like you, purchase the fonts. For example,
if you are graphic designer and you use my fonts for a house style for
a client who will then use them, the client too must purchase the fonts.
Similarly, if you, as a user, wish to make my fonts available to a printing
firm so that it can do work for you, the printing firm too must purchase
the fonts, or fonts can be made available to the printing firm (or another
third party) on the basis of a service licence.
Please let us know about any arrangements of this kind in good time so
that they can be taken into account when drawing up the licence agreement.
Collaboration with Visualogik
Visualogik produces and supplies distribution versions of fonts and special
custom fonts. Visualogik’s services for Gerard Unger include the
technical elaboration of fonts as standard fonts for Mac and pc, house
style customisation, hinting and delta hinting. Before Gerard Unger’s
fonts are released Visualogik submits them to extensive testing to ensure
that they work as described with all known and recent software. Even so,
some combinations of programs with system software, older versions of
programs or particular types of program are prone to cause fonts to work
in unexpected ways. Visualogik can then investigate and solve the problem.
Visualogik can also customise fonts to create special versions for house
styles, versions with old style numerals instead of ranging numerals,
fonts which include your logo, and so on. If you would like to know what
else Visualogik has to offer, or if you have questions about fonts and
their uses, or problems with a particular font, visit www.visualogik.com
